Key terms, in plain language

EHTC

The ticker for Earth Trust Coin — one coin backed by 1 km² of land and 1 oz of carbon-neutral gold.

Trustee

The party that aggregates and allocates the land and gold reserves that back each new coin.

P2P DAO exchange

A peer-to-peer, distributed autonomous buy/sell exchange built into the wallet — the only place EHTC trades.

FIFO queue

First in, first out. Orders are filled in the sequence they were requested, subject to EHTC availability.

Risk Lending Wallet

An optional wallet that pays a fixed return for lending EHTC to absorb defined project liability, like a catastrophe bond.

Carbon-neutral gold

PAMP-certified physical gold whose production emissions have been verified and offset.

EEZ

Exclusive Economic Zone. EHTC transactions are hosted so they do not occur within any single nation's EEZ.

Whale transaction

An order larger than all currently available EHTC. It waits in the queue but keeps its time priority.

Redemption

Exchanging EHTC back through the P2P exchange; the gold reserve is vaulted in Switzerland and redeemable.
