Earth Trust Coin ยท EHTC
Environmental stewardship, with real value.
Earth Trust Coin is a neutral digital currency backed 1 : 1 by one square kilometre of responsibly managed land and one ounce of carbon-neutral Swiss gold — traded peer-to-peer, held in trust in Switzerland, and redeemable anywhere on Earth.
What is EHTC
A store of value that cares for the planet
EHTC lets holders transact in a reputable, privacy-focused, ethically governed digital currency while a sizeable land trust and an equal reserve of certified carbon-neutral gold sit behind every unit. The value floats between a low anchor — the gold — and a higher anchor: responsibly improved land.
1 km² of land
Approximately 247.1 acres of land, sourced worldwide by the Trustee and responsibly managed.
1 oz of gold
One ounce PAMP carbon-neutral certified physical Swiss gold bar, vaulted and insured.
1 Earth Trust Coin
Minted only when both reserves are aggregated and allocated by the Trustee.
The backing
Three reserves stand behind every coin
Land and gold form the floor of value. Risk Lending is an optional, voluntary layer that lets holders earn a fixed return in exchange for absorbing defined project liability.
01
Land trust
Not less than one square kilometre of land per coin, sourced from anywhere on the Earth's surface regardless of political affiliation and managed for ecological and long-term value.
02
Carbon-neutral gold
One ounce of PAMP carbon-neutral Lady Fortuna minted gold per coin, stored under lock, key, security and insurance inside a Swiss gold vault and fully redeemable.
03
Risk Lending
Holders may lend EHTC to the Project Risk Wallet to mitigate liability risk. Lenders receive a fixed annual return, credited monthly — with risk of loss during a covered liability event.
By the numbers
The maths of a finite, Earth-scaled currency
Because at least 1 km² of land is required to create one EHTC, the supply can only ever sit between 0 and 510,100,000. Most of the remaining surface is international water, so circulation is expected to approach roughly 150,000,000 — if that level is ever reached.
How it works
From reserve to redeemable coin
Every EHTC follows the same lifecycle. New coins are created at a random rate limited only by the Project's resources — never faster than the reserves that back them.
Aggregate & allocate
The Trustee assembles at least 1 km² of land and 1 oz of carbon-neutral gold.
Mint one EHTC
A single coin is created and linked to that specific land and gold allocation.
Hold in trust
Digital land deeds and physical gold bars are administered and vaulted in Switzerland.
Trade peer-to-peer
Holders buy and sell whole or fractional EHTC through the wallet's P2P DAO exchange.
Redeem or risk-lend
EHTC is redeemable through the exchange, or lent to the Risk Wallet for a fixed return.
The wallet runs on macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android.
Peer-to-peer exchange
A transparent, first-in / first-out order queue
Only EHTC is bought and sold on the wallet. Orders are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, can be cancelled before completion, and large orders wait in line until enough EHTC is available — while keeping their time priority.
- Buy and sell whole or fractional EHTC; either side can cancel before completion.
- Smaller buy requests are processed before outstanding large ones until enough EHTC is available.
- A seller stays at the front of the queue until their sale request is complete or cancelled.
- Matching priority: 1) external cryptocurrency preference, 2) EHTC availability, 3) request date & time.
- "Whale" orders larger than all available EHTC wait in the queue but keep their time placeholder.
- EHTC can be exchanged P2P anywhere in the world, wallet to wallet.
Risk & reward
The Project Risk Lending Wallet
Modelled on a catastrophe insurance-linked security, Risk Lending lets holders move EHTC from their own wallet to the Project in support of absorbing defined liability — in return for a guaranteed, bond-like payment.
- The rate of return is fixed at the start of each year as a set percentage.
- New EHTC is credited to the lender's wallet on the first of the following month.
- Covered liability events are listed in writing and updated once per year.
- A trusted third-party attorney reviews events against the covered list and publishes the full chronological history in the wallet.
- Losses are shared pro-rata across contributing wallet addresses; contributions can be withdrawn in whole or in part.
Supply
Finite by design
The creation rate of new EHTC is random and limited only by the Project's resources. The ceiling is set by the Earth itself.
Carbon-neutral gold at one ounce per coin poses no supply constraint. The land requirement does.
Neutral ground
Where EHTC is operated
The underlying technology is globally hosted so that transactions do not take place within the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of any single nation. Assets held in trust are securely located and intelligently insured in Switzerland.
The Earth Trust Coin Foundation is virtual. It monitors the technology and environmental-stewardship policies — it does not control EHTC itself. Original digital land deeds and certified carbon-neutral gold bars are administered in Switzerland and physically held inside a Swiss gold vault with security and insurance.

Ethical values
A foundation that watches, not one that rules
The Earth Trust Coin Foundation is a virtual foundation that monitors, promotes and supports the Project through scientific study, technology resources, education, environmental policy, standards, accounting and published transparency reports.
It works to include a wide range of global partners — NGOs, non-profits, students, researchers, academic institutions, commercial organisations and technology vendors — in a multidisciplinary effort to distribute value around the Earth.
Questions
Frequently asked
Is EHTC redeemable for the underlying assets?
Yes. EHTC is fully redeemable through a peer-to-peer distributed autonomous organisation (DAO) buy/sell exchange. The gold reserve is held in a Swiss vault and is redeemable; land is held in trust and managed on behalf of the Project.
What can I trade on the Earth Trust Coin wallet?
Only EHTC is bought and sold on the wallet. Each buyer and seller also states a preferred external cryptocurrency, which is matched first when pairing orders in the queue.
How many Earth Trust Coins will exist?
Between 0 and 510,100,000 — the number of square kilometres of the Earth's surface. Because most remaining area is international water, circulation is expected to approach roughly 150,000,000, if ever reached.
Can I lose value in Risk Lending?
Yes. Risk Lending tributes may hold or lose value. In exchange for absorbing defined project liability, lenders receive a fixed annual return credited monthly. Covered liability events are published once per year and reviewed by a trusted third-party attorney.
Where is the Foundation based?
The Foundation is virtual, with a presence in Bern, Switzerland. It was organised in San Francisco, California in 2024. Assets in trust are administered and vaulted in Switzerland.
